Rod Stewart to Visit Helmut Before His Budapest Concert

Sir Rod Stewart is returning to Hungary in 2027. The British rock legend will perform at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on June 18, but according to information from the Wurstburg Press Office (WSI), his Hungarian visit may include another rather unusual stop.

Before taking the stage in Budapest, Rod Stewart is expected to visit Helmut in Lókút.

WSI has not yet disclosed what the two will discuss during the meeting. Given Helmut’s remarkably extensive international connections, however, perhaps the visit is not quite as surprising as it might first appear.

For the moment, preparations seem to be underway. Rod Stewart has already been seen carefully studying a map of Lókút and the surrounding Wurstburg area – presumably to make sure that even a rock legend does not take the wrong turn on his way to Helmut.

The Budapest show will be part of Stewart’s The Final Encore tour, announced as the final major tour of his career.

That does not mean the singer is retiring from music. Stewart has made it clear that he is saying farewell to large-scale touring rather than to performing altogether.

The 81-year-old singer has a long history with Hungarian audiences. In 2010, he performed a huge free concert in Budapest in front of an estimated 250,000 people, and he returned to the Hungarian capital in 2024 for a show at the MVM Dome.

His 2027 European tour begins in Dublin in April and will visit several major European cities before arriving in Budapest.

The Rod Stewart Budapest concert will take place on June 18, 2027, at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna.

What advice Helmut will give Sir Rod before sending him on his way to Budapest remains unknown.

WSI will, naturally, continue to keep a close eye on developments.

WSI: Preparations Begin for the 2026 Wurstburg Knights’ Tournament

Preparations have begun in the castle courtyard for this year’s Wurstburg Knights’ Tournament, which is scheduled to take place on October 23, 2026.

The weapons masters are already inspecting the swords and shields, preparations for the horses are underway in the stables, and the court kitchen is calculating how much sausage will be needed to feed an entire gathering of knights without causing a serious diplomatic incident.

Knight Helmut Wurst is personally overseeing the preparations.

“The tournament is a celebration of knights. You may come bearing a sword, but not ill intentions.”

The court has not yet revealed the list of knights to be invited, but according to WSI sources, guests are also expected from beyond the borders of Wurstburg.

The October 23 date is still provisional. The Wurstburg Press Office will provide further information on the final programme, the participants and the knightly challenges at a later date.

Egy parola erejéig Wurstburgban járt Gianmarco Tamberi

Italian world champion high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi paid a lightning visit to Wurstburg, calling on Knight Helmut for little more than a handshake.

First of all, Knight Helmut congratulated his guest on his achievement at the athletics complex in Budapest, before the conversation quickly turned to professional matters. Tamberi wanted to know how long, in the knight’s opinion, he should keep jumping quite so high, and whether there comes a point when a man ought to realise that he really has no business being up there in the first place.

After a brief moment of thought, Knight Helmut replied:

“Keep jumping as long as you keep coming back down.”

The world champion described this as advice worth considering, and the two men shook hands.

Tamberi then departed Wurstburg. According to the castle guard, he used the gate as intended and did not jump over it.

Our special correspondent did not report from the scene this time. By the time he arrived, Tamberi had already jumped off.

Wurstburg Press Office Established at the Request of Knight Wurst

Wurstburgi Sajtóiroda

Wurstburg has gained yet another institution of considerable importance. At the request of Knight Wurst, the Wurstburg Press Office (WSI) has officially been established, tasked with providing fast, accurate and appropriately knightly coverage of events taking place at the castle, throughout Wurstburg and, whenever necessary, in the outside world.

According to the castle administration, the new office became necessary because so much has been happening around Knight Wurst lately that the chronicler finally pointed out that he only has two hands – and needs one of them just to hold the quill.

Naturally, WSI will operate as an independent press office.

Its independence is personally guaranteed by Knight Wurst, who also appoints its correspondent, provides his horse, accommodation and travelling sausages, and, when necessary, tells him where to go.

The first special correspondent of WSI is Richard Würstli, who previously performed duties of an unspecified nature around the castle, although according to reliable sources, even then he somehow knew everything that was going on.

Würstli’s assignment is simple:

He must be wherever something is happening.

If something happens in Kötcse, he will be in Kötcse.

If an arrow flies in Markaz, he will be in Markaz.

If handshakes are exchanged in Berlin, he will be in Berlin.

If negotiations take place in Moscow, he will be in Moscow.

And if something happens in Wurstburg, for once he won’t have to travel anywhere.

For his work, the correspondent has been issued a notebook, a quill, modern image-recording equipment and three spare pairs of socks.

No sword.

Knight Wurst maintains that a journalist armed with a pen is considerably more dangerous than one armed with a sword.

From now on, WSI reports from around the world will begin with the following words:

“Our special correspondent reports.”

From where?

From wherever he happens to be.

The Press Office already has its first major assignment. Wurstburg is preparing for a grand international knights’ tournament, meaning Richard Würstli is expected to begin field operations within days.

WSI management has, however, reminded its correspondent that the names of surprise guests should, in future, only be disclosed after the surprise has actually taken place.

The Press Office has drawn the appropriate conclusions from the recent incident involving Knight József Mónus.

Precisely what those conclusions were remains unknown.
